Intrageist*= “Intra” means within and “geist” means spirit. These two form this word which means spirit within.
Animation is the act of animating, the act of giving life or spirit. As the cliché goes, when there's life, hope is always present. Therefore, animation itself is a word of inspiration as it is a word that represents hope.
My first animation film watched on the big screen was The Lion King. After being amazed at the ability of animation to make 2D animals talk and make a seemingly impossible story alive before my very eyes, I was damn hooked. Imagine making stories with elements that are physically impossible (like magic powers and flying carpets and talking animals), achievable. Thus, animation intensified my love for drawing as it fires up imaginations and turns dreams into realities.
Giving life to inanimate things somehow makes you become like God: you make new worlds, create new things, create new people with different personalities… make an extension of yourself. Only your imagination is your limit.
All the drugs in the world wouldn’t compare to the happiness it will bring me when I turn my creations into beings infused with life… with a chip of myself… with a part of my spirit.
(*“Intrageist” is a term created by myself and a close friend during our third year in high school. We used it to call a power stone in a novel we were collaboratively working on. The Intrageist was a stone infused by Aessirs’ will to defeat the Evil Sorceress, Vatrisza. [Obviously, this won’t mean anything unless you read our book ;P ] I met Karen, my partner-in-writing and finally asked permission to use the word. To my absolute relief, she enthusiastically agreed!)
